12 Step Program For Socialists

When I realized that socialism was destroying our nation, I was curious how other destructive actions were handled and how people went about fixing these problems before it was too late. Then it hit me. Our nation’s left needs a 12 step program. So below is my small part towards ensuring socialism doesn’t take over our great nation. It is modelled after the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step program.

1. We admitted we were powerless over Socialism–that our lives had become unmanageable.

To admit that there are many factors that drew you to Socialism and to realize that it wasn’t your fault is something that must be accepted. Socialism is a devious and attractive thing. Few humans can resist the temptation to give all we have to a cause that shows starving children, bloodies harp seals, battered wives etc. over and over again. We are only human and our heartstrings can easily be pulled by this monster.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

There is a greater power that can bring sanity back to the confused socialist. This greater power is called Logic. Logic is something that is exhibited by conservative minded people who do not simply WANT the world to be a better place, but they actually can use Logic to help MAKE it a better place. The road to Socialism is paved with good intentions.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Logic, as we understood it.

Once you succumb to Logic and let it guide you, your actions will steer you away from socialism and towards a more sensible way of life.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

This is a tough one. We need to really look beyond the socialist traps like universal daycare, and universal healthcare, and realize that many socialist programs that are called “universal” are not truly universal. They are usually make work programs which is the socialist way of redistributing wealth. Tax the hard working citizens that are PRODUCTIVE TO THE NATION and redistribute that wealth to agencies and organizations that hire people who are unwilling to be “productive”. These agencies are leeches. They tear down the urge of “productive” people to make a better living. As more agencies form and the productive people hit their limits, the tax rate must rise to help redistribute the wealth. Eventually the tax rate will hit a critical point we call 100%. This is where a nation reaches pure communism. (A nirvana for Socialists).

5. Admitted to Logic, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

This is not hard. You can go join the local Conservative party EDA and just tell the person you speak to that you were a socialist but that you want to correct the error of your ways and join the party. They can help you.

6. We’re entirely ready to have Logic remove all these defects of character.

This one is easy. Once Logic comes into our lives, the defects of character which rear their ugly heads due to Socialism tend to whither by the roadside.

7. Humbly asked Logic to remove our shortcomings.

If Logic doesn’ answer your request, you can always find an island of sanity with the Lowell Green show on CFRA.com (Monday to Friday 9am to noon), or you can try Jeff Allen on 570news.com .

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

The list starts with stay at home moms. It includes every Canadian working for a private corporation. It includes everyone who has waited over a month for an MRI. It includes countless people who have had chiropractic or physiotherapy aid cut. It includes every child who has had mom, dad, grandma, a neighbour, etc watch them during the day. It includes every Canadian who has suffered wrongly at the hand of any criminal who is reoffending due to a lax criminal justice system. The list goes on and on and on.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Where to start? The list from number 8 is a good place. Warning, this one may take awhile.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Again, Logic can help guide the socialist in this regard.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with Logic, as we understood It, praying only for knowledge of Its’ will for us and the power to carry that out.

We are starting to realize self-actualization by this point. It isn’t hard. Just believe that you can reach for and accomplish more than to work in a socialist job that provides minimal help while getting paid by tax dollars.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other socialists, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

You can help with step 12 by clicking the “Email This Post” button and sending this to a friend who is a socialist.

Smackdown – Bill Graham Caught Off Guard

After 13 years of listening to Liberals twist and turn while answering questions in Question Period, I am really enjoying watching the Conservatives square off and answer questions with real answers. I think some Liberals are also surprised that the Conservatives aren’t squriming like Chretien or Martin did.

A couple of days ago I caught this clip of Liberal leader Bill Graham humming and hawing in confusion after he gets a straight answer from the Prime Minister that he obviously was not expecting. Graham’s expression is simply priceless.

Liberal Vixens

If you go to google’s online translator and plug in the word “Volpe” and have it translate from Italian to English, it spits out the word “Vixen”.

If you then go to Dictionary.com and plug in the word “Vixen” you get the definition:

1. a female fox.
2. an ill-tempered or quarrelsome woman.

Considering Joe is fighting on despite having signed up dead people and having taken donations from teenagers, we know he is quarrelsome. Considering he is a wiley politician who decided to play the ethnicity card by screaming “It’s because I am Italian” when he got caught signing up the dead people, I would consider him as sly as a fox.

In other news, on Mike Duffy Live tonight Belinda Stronach politicianed her way around the question on whether or not she and Tie Domi are/were having an affair that ruined his marriage. She made a point to comment that the allegations were exactly that, but then she said it would not be prudent for her to comment on a case that was before the courts. (meaning Tie Domi’s divorce battle with his wife).

All I can say is that if Stronach had not had an affair, she would most certainly have been denying it.

Belinda seems to be more of a vixen than Volpe!

March For Freedom In Caledonia

When is a protest not a protest? When the Liberal government aims to shut it down via an injunction, despite the right to peaceful protest being guaranteed by our Charter.

The Ontario Provincial Police has apparently chosen a side of the fence that allows natives to protest by hijacking a housing development in Caledonia, protest by burning down a bridge without repurcussions, protest by harassing local residents who point cameras at them, protest by beating up news crews without penalty, yet when the non natives plan a peaceful march/rally in protest of the natives squatting on the disputed land, they seek an injunction to block the protest.

How two faced is this?

Apparently they have also asked local media to not support the march. SOOOoooooo…….I think if you live within a one or two hour drive of Caledonia and are not happy with the way the government is handling this particular legal morash of a land claim, you should head on down to Caledonia, help out the local shop owners by buying some local goods, food, perhaps stay in a local hotel for the night, and take part in the march for freedom.

Federal Tories To Pay Down Debt By 13.2 Billion!!

What is debt? It’s money that our government owes. And to whom does the government owe this money to? Well to be honest, about 3/4’s of it is owed to Canadian Citizens. This is owed via Canada Savings Bonds, T-Bills or other financial vehicles. This means that about a quarter of the debt is owed to foreign entities and investors.

So when the debt is paid down, the government is giving us double the bonus.

1) They are paying back debt owed directly to citizen’s
and

2) They are reducing the amount of interest we pay to service the debt.

This 13.2 Billion paydown at a modest 4% interest rate means that our interest will drop by about a half billion a year. That means 500 Million more dollars to put towards social programs, tax cuts, new equipment for the military or paying down the debt even further next year, etc. Whatever the government decides to do, the bottom line is that this payment of the surplus directly to the debt will make each yar better and better for Canadians.

I just have to say “Bravo!!”

Lowell Green And I – The Red Friday Video And The Idea To Sell Prints Of The Parliament Hill Photo

The one benefit I have when I work from home is the luxury of recording my calls to Lowell Green whom I respect to no end for his service to our community.

Today, after hearing how Le Droit Newspaper in Montreal was reporting only 2000 people on parliament hill and the CBC and CRV reporting that there was only 3000, I called Lowell to

a) tell him that the number was far greater. (He confirmed that the official count was close to 30,000)

b) tell him about the hundreds who had viewed my video already over the internet

and

c) resuggest that CFRA sells prints of the photo with proceeds going to the Legions or to some sort of fund that supports the families of soldiers who have died overseas.

Lowell thought it was a great idea. He also was incredibly generous and let me say my website name online.

As many of you are here specifically to view the videos, I have put a set of links to the right under the Red Friday’s ribbon so you can view the 7 parts. The granularity of the video is not that great as I tried to keep the file size down for those who may not have a good high speed connection.

I do want to take this opportunity to apologize about the shakiness in the videos as well. I had no tripod with me and with the crowd, it wouldn’t have done me any good anyway so what you see is basically the camcorder on my hand being held up in the air for approximately an hour straight. (my arm paid for it the next day)

Why The Long Gun Registry Needs To Go

Since the Dawson College tragedy, many people are questioning the current government’s plan to scrap the long gun registry. But I have noticed the press is quite one sided in this.

To date there is story after story outlining the tragedy and displaying a view from the pro gun control lobby, yet the flipside is only flippantly displayed. The only thing that I have heard in defence of the government plan is that the current gun laws did not prevent the Dawson college incident.

Stephen Taylor exposes the one sided reporting by Julie Van Dusen of the CBC.

What I find quite interesting is the lack of news coverage on what the long gun registry exactly is and what it is used for and how much it costs. I think a layman’s cost analysis is needed here.

The gun registry is a database with information on every gun, who owns it, their contact info and the serial numbers of said guns or gun components. It is used by the police to search to see if an address they may be approaching has guns.

a) The database portion of the gun registry could have been set up for less than $500,000 which would have included a full blown database with top notch internet or extranet security depending on what is desired. The bandwidth limitations could have been made such that thousands of police officers could have accessed it simultaneously without any problems.

b) The maintainance could have been managed by 5 to 10 workers to enter the paper registrations at a nice salary of $75K a year for a further $500K.

c) The advertising aspects could have been the biggest cost. But when it comes to paying Liberal ad agencies to sway the minds of people who do not want to spend a billion dollars, cost was apparently not a factor.

The bottom line is that this gun registry is a expensive joke. Most people have not registered their weapons, the cost to set it up and operate it have been ridiculous compared to what a business would pay for such a database. It makes me sick thinking of how many people’s pockets were lined for this program.

I have a simple solution to add fairness to the MSM stories. For each and every story that discusses the Tory plan to scrap the gun registry, please just repeat the following two points.

a) The Liberals said it would cost 2 Million to set up and then be self sufficient

b) Under Liberal majorities, cost increase after cost increase was approved so that the program has now cost tax payers between one and two BILLION dollars.

It’s as simple as that. Just add these two points when you get on your soapboxes defending this farce of a registry.

What My Red Friday Was Like

After taking all the video footage that is in the previous 7 posts, and working for a few hours to get it online, I discovered that I had not quite explained what my Red Friday was like.

After leaving the office I started making my way downtown an was listening to Lowell Green on CFRA the whold ride down. I managed to find parking on the top floor of a lot in the market and made my way towards the Hill. While walking up Sussex I noticed police motorcycles strategically placed …ummmm….everywhere. As I got to the corner where the Chateau Laurier sits the armoured cars and armoured SUV’s with full motorcycle entourage started coming around the bend and took off down Sussex behind me towards the PM’s residence. I am 99% sure this was Karzai’s motorcade.

The number of people milling around wearing red was about 1 in 5 or so but as I got closer to the Hill it was pretty much everyone. I knew I was feeling good when I stepped on the Hill and the first thing that stood out was a guy dressed up in a Santa Claus outfit. (Either that or the big guy showed up himself).

Because I arrived around 1145 and because the traffic was probably holding up a lot of folks I managed to get a decent spot about 20 meters in front of the stage, and as you can see about 10 or 15 feet to the right of Private Michael Spence (when looking off the stage).

I really enjoyed a bit of gabbing and smiles with the people around me and I enjoyed thanking man of the folks from the Legions. The video tells you what I saw.

After the event was over I managed to run into mayorial candidate Larry O’Brien again but my digital camera was dead on batteries so the photo his assistant tried to take did not happen. I also ran into Kanata North Council candidate Matt Muirhead (who I actually saw at the Carp fair again today).

Outside of that, I really just absorbed it all and felt the pride oozing from everyone. The positive vibes coming from every part of the Hill was great. I was also very pleased to see so many MP’s behind the PM and others while the speeches were on. It was quite a treat. Even Peter Stoffer was there. (I think he should run of leadership of the NDP one day!!)

I guess that covers it. If I can think of anything else, I will add it later. I want to thank Lowell Green, Steve Madely, CFRA, the Legions, the police force, the Hill staff and everyone else who made the day happen. I know it will make a great show for the troops.

Now for my one suggestion. I think that CFRA should make some sort of nice print of the photo and sell it to generate money for the local legions or for some fund for the families of those lost in the Afghanistan war. I would buy one, frame it and display it proudly if they do.

In fact…I just came up with a new Poll idea…

Red Friday – Part 7

In the final part of this video collection the armed forces chaplin says some words, and then the red sea photo is taken. I am sure it will be a doozy and when the troops overseas see that so many people gathered just to show them a bit of support they will get a big morale boost.

I am one who was ecstatic that I could take part in such a gathering and I hope that everyone who made it gives themselves a big pat on the back. For those that could not make it, have no worries. You can show your support by wearing something red on Fridays. A shirt, a jacket, a hat, a ribbon, an armband, a tie… whatever. Just do it. It’s the least we can do to tell our boys overseas that we care and it’s the least we can do to show the loved ones of these soldiers that we care and that their jobs matter to us.

God bless all of them and may they all return home safe and sound when their mission is over.

Red Friday – Part 6

This segment is a very touching one. It is the speech given by the two military wives from CFB Petawawa who started Red Fridays. When you hear these two talk from their hearts it makes you feel so proud of the men and women who put their lives on the line every day not just for us, but for humans around the world in the 19 countries where we have forces.

Don’t forget to rate the video.
