March For Freedom In Caledonia

When is a protest not a protest? When the Liberal government aims to shut it down via an injunction, despite the right to peaceful protest being guaranteed by our Charter.

The Ontario Provincial Police has apparently chosen a side of the fence that allows natives to protest by hijacking a housing development in Caledonia, protest by burning down a bridge without repurcussions, protest by harassing local residents who point cameras at them, protest by beating up news crews without penalty, yet when the non natives plan a peaceful march/rally in protest of the natives squatting on the disputed land, they seek an injunction to block the protest.

How two faced is this?

Apparently they have also asked local media to not support the march. SOOOoooooo…….I think if you live within a one or two hour drive of Caledonia and are not happy with the way the government is handling this particular legal morash of a land claim, you should head on down to Caledonia, help out the local shop owners by buying some local goods, food, perhaps stay in a local hotel for the night, and take part in the march for freedom.

Yet Ramsay said they didn’t seek an injunction…

Everybody except Canadians have the right to protest in this country.

    Pay your taxes.

I’m still trying to figure out if Philanthropist is pro or against the rally based on the comment.

Joanne, I am not sure if Ramsey asked for the injunction or not but the mayor of Caledonia thinks it’s a bad idea and could cause trouble.

I have a feeling this is going to be a big mess, but anyway it turns out, it will make the average joe look good. I will put my philosophy on this together in a post later tonight.

How about a “March for integrity”

Protecting land owners from title fraud.

How did the developer obtain title to land owned by someone without purchasing it from the rightful owner?

What would you do if a judge ordered you to leave your house/land because someone obtained “title” to it (without buying it from you)?

Unreasonable rulings can force unreasonable actions (garbage in – garbage out)

    Bravo for Mr. McHale,
This country has for too long allowed both the Natives and the
french to influence policy. If we are one country then we need one set of laws that apply to all. We spend to much time and effort in appeasing both. The land belongs to the country of Canada plain and simple. There are treaties and land sale documents to back up that the natives have sold these lands although I have yet to figure out why we had to buy them. Why is one province allowed to talk treason as that is what separation amounts too, why has the government funded these attacks on our country. The Natives although they claim this as their land have no more right to it than anyone else,it has been proven that they emigrated across the land bridge thereby making them no different than anyone else here.People come to this great country in search of freedom and justice. We as Canadians have reason to be proud of our heritage be it French,Native or English. it was these and many other nationalities that have settled and made this country what it is.
It was the “melting” of all these cultures that gives us a truly unique identity. As a Canadian i try to look at everyone the same without prejudice. I am not racist in any way but an tired like so many others of this government having different rules and for this Mr Mchale should receive the order of Canada for his effort..again bravo to a true Canadian.

    Mr McHale,
I’m sure you would protest too, if your people had been treated as ” fairly and justly” as the first nations people of Canada. The land you walk on already had owners that are now located on some of the “best” land the government could locate for them. The government has provided some of the “best schooling” and their culture is in the forefront of every Canadian I’m sure. Your racial profiling statements can’t be understood by the First Nations as this has never happened to us.I’m sure you will receive a warm welcome at Caledonia for your march. Please look for my entire family to your front when you reach the line, we should be looking right back at you.

No one denies your right to a peaceful protest, under Canadian law you may do so. It is your means that has caused the issue. You have broken the law and gone unpunished if you wish to protest as the Premier would say,” Come to Queens Park”. Hey there you go, prime real estate lots of media and an invite to be there. Why not move your protest there and stop holding the community of Caledonia hostage. However I feel you should know in advance that men hiding behind kerchiefs and brandishing weapons probably won’t be tolerated. Nor will assaulting reporters and destroying property. It is unfortunate that you Natives can’t progress with the rest of the world. Things have changed. I’m pretty sure you’re not willing to give up your electricity or homes, no TV ,computers, radios etc as you obviously have a computer you want some things that have occurred because of progress. And as for your best land comment I’ve been to several reserves throughout Ontario and places like Christian Island are beautiful and just for arguement the natives chose this island when fleeing from who ..other natives set out on annhilating the tribe. When is enough enough. Had this land been settled by the spanish your whole race could have been wiped out like the aztecs…definitely would have put an end to any of this appeasement that has gone on far too long. I am not responsible for what transpired hundreds of years ago and the sooner the Natives stop living in the past and dreaming of better days the sooner government can deal with some of the real issues facing society as a whole. The Government of this country needs to stand up and treat this country as a unified whole and not as a bunch of distinct societies that need continual appeasement. The world faces real issues, real crisis and wasting taxpayer money having to babysit this protest is irresponsible governemnt.

Ian (#8) Just an FYI, I am not Mr. McHale. He has his own website and our sites are not related. I would hate to inadvertently have you squat in my comments and claim ownership. That would be wrong.

Mr. McHale’s site is at http://www.caledoniawakeupcall.com
