The pictures below are of a guy who stole the poppy donation money from a shop in Calgary. Similar incidents have been reported in Toronto and Montreal as well.
I think this ranks right up there with the guys who urinated on the War Memorial on Canada Day.
This blew me away. (I know I know, it’s a couple of weeks old but I haven’t had much time to surf a few of my favourite blogs the past month).
A writer for Grist, an environmental magazine that in the past has featured interviews with Al Gore and Bill Moyers, is calling for war crimes trials against so-called climate change “deniers” who disagree with the theory that humans have caused global warming. David Roberts says: “when the impacts are really hitting us and we’re in a full worldwide scramble to minimize the damage, we should have war crimes trials for these bastards — some sort of climate Nuremberg.”
The Holocaust references drew criticism from Roger Pielke Jr. of the University of Colorado’s Center for Science and Technology Policy Research — who says he believes in human-caused global warming. He said “this allusion is an affront to those who suffered and died in the Holocaust. This allusion has no place in the discourse on climate change.”
Considering I have been a huge proponent of the fact that over 97% of Green House Gases are water vapour, and that the earth has a self healing process that has produced ice age after ice age and warming after warming, I guess I am going to be one of those that eventually get locked up for putting science ahead of leftist fear mongering.
When that day comes, I will once again be able to say that I have been Officially Screwed.

After bilking the shareholders out of billions, Jeff Skilling, ex CEO of Enron, will die in jail. The 52 year old got sentenced to 24 years and four months in jail for his part in the Enron scandal. It feels good knowing he will be some prisoner’s beeatch for the rest of his years.
Considering Andy Fastow, the CFO (Chief FUBAR Officer in this case), only got 6 years and probably has millions sitting in an offshore trust or Swiss Bank Account and Ken Lay died of a heart attack pending sentencing, I think Skilling got the toughest sentence out of the big three.
Fastow got of lucky for turning over on how inept he was. If you have read Kurt Eichenwald’s book on the subject, you would know that Fastow was the driving force in the financial scandal that rocked the markets. But Skilling was the man in charge so rightfully deserves a harsh sentence for letting it happen on his watch.
So ends the Enron affair as far as the major players go.
Good riddance.
I just arrived home to find a note in my email box from YouTube telling me that the Dan Matheson vs. Dan McTeague video that I had on my YouTube channel (via CTV Newsnet) was removed due to a third party complaint regarding it infringing on copyright. The third party was Holland and Hart LLC, a law firm out of the western US states.
I have no clue why an American law firm would complain about a Canadian blogger/YouTube video post unless it is either a) a firm helping protect YouTube or b) a firm tied to some Canadian entity that must dislike my blog.
In light of this, I am encouraging you all to go to my YouTube channel and view any of my video posts now because I will be removing many of them over the long weekend. i.e. consider now to Sunday your Last Chance Viewing!!
When all is said and done, I will only have my Red Friday videos.

This is going to be a fun one to watch legally. After the Supreme Court of Moonbattery okayed sex in “swingers clubs” because they were private, a bar in eastern Ontario is looking to cause similar waves by opening a “smokers club” to get around the laws in Ontario.
As 20 people smoked cigarettes and cigars while being served drinks by contract workers, club spokesman Mike Kennedy said he will continue operating until he’s “taken out in handcuffs.”
The club, Doolittles, has already been charged for violating the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. Kennedy said the club is private because only paying members are allowed inside.
He said the Supreme Court of Canada recently upheld the rights of private swinger’s clubs in Quebec to allow sexual activity on the premises and questioned why smokers shouldn’t have the same freedom.
I think we all know the downside to smoking and second hand smoke, but I think this one will be especially interesting as the Supreme Court has ruled on a similarly run facility in favour of the facility.
I’ll keep an eye on the case and let you all know how it goes.

LONDON — Police have arrested 14 people in anti-terrorism raids, saying Saturday they suspected the men had been involved in training and recruiting for terror.
The arrests in London late Friday and early Saturday were not linked to the alleged plot to bomb trans-Atlantic airliners or to the July 2005 bomb attacks on London’s transport network, the capital’s Metropolitan Police said. They declined to give details of what the suspects were believed to have done, other than saying they were arrested as part of an investigation into terror training and recruitment.
The raids followed months of surveillance and investigation, police said.
The 14 people, arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, were being held in central London, police said. Officers were searching an unspecified number of homes around the capital, they added.
It’s nice to know this is not related to the previous busts and that we are catching more and more of the bastards.

I just read a post and a dozen or so comments at Jesse Gritter’s blog regarding safe injection clinics. And although I usually share many views Jesse has, I have to say that in this case I have to disagree.
Something is definately wrong in this country when we ostracize smokers, boot them out of every government building, out of every restaurant and push the smokers off hospital property to have a smoke but we provide a nice cushy private room with a sink and free needles for heroin addicts to shoot up.
Think about that. We are punishing those who put taxes into the government coffers by using a legal substance and we give law breaking heroin addicts a nice cushy place to shoot an illegal substance into their veins.
And now the Harper government is giving the clinics enough money to stay open for at least another year.

So now that the evenings are getting a tad cool, the natives who took over the housing development in Caledonia are looking for donations so they can finish off the homes that were started.
Janie Jameson, spokeswoman for the protesters, says no one wants to see the half-built houses “rot away” when they could be used for shelter during the winter.
She says protesters also need non-perishable food and warm clothing to help them maintain their occupation, which she says will only end when the land is returned to the Six Nations people.
I say let ’em freeze. Janie doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I would be glad to see the half built homes rot away and I am a part owner considering my tax dollars paid for the land and the half built homes. Let ’em build their own longhouses.
Considering a judge has ruled they must leave the land until the dispute is settled, I think that anyone donating to keep them there is aiding and abetting criminal activity and should be charged.
The OPP may be to chickenshit to get the natives off the land, but they certainly wouldn’t be too chickenshit to arrest some left leaning Canadian who would give these criminals comfort.
I think summer camp for these natives may be coming to an end as I predicted.
The swarm was hot for two weeks.
Every major news agency had press following every move of John Mark Karr. CNN and others were even so blind that they were broadcasting what he ate on his flight over the ocean, how many times he went potty and what flavour toothpaste he brushed with.
They let us know that he wears boxers over briefs, that he enjoys washing his hair twice with shampoo before applying a single layer of conditioner. They even let us know he has owned two cats, a dog, two guinea pigs and three hamsters in his life and that he prefers ribbed vs. non ribbed condoms.
They let us know he is allergic to bee stings but loves mixed nuts, enjoys a nice bordeaux with his seafood and that he actually likes the taste of orange juice right after brushing his teeth.
We found out he was a bed wetter until he was 13, that his favourite colour is fuschia and that he was in his high schools version of Grease, where he played the role of Kanicky.
Ok, so all the bullshit above was made up by me. I paid absolutely no attention to this guy other than to flip the station or turn the page everytime his name appeared in the press.
Why the media circus for two weeks?
I think something big just happened somewhere and not one reporter was available to cover it thanks to this story.

I’m not sure how to read this one but this morning while watching CNN, I noticed this image of Ernesto.
You will notice Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ernesto pummeling the eastern tip of Cuba.
I then pulled this off of Google Earth.
You will notice on the south east tip of Cuba is were Guantanamo Bay and the US military base is.
I also recall watching a special on the conditions of the prisoners at Camp X-Ray at Gitmo where many POWs are kept and recalled the outdoor type jail cells.
I’m not saying we should be worried about this but it makes you wonder if this isn’t a great way to knock off a bunch of prisoners and then blame it on mother nature.
If anyone knows what they do with prisoners during hurricanes, I would be glad to alter this post or add the information.
