Caledonia – Free Summer Camp For Natives

The Oka Crisis started on March 11th, 1990 and ended on September 26th, 1990.

The Caledonia land claim dispute started on April 28th, 2006.

Since the Yellow Bellied McShifty has bought the land and put it in trust until the dispute is settled, the natives can leave and the land will not be touched. Yet still they squat.

Neighbours who border on the disputed land have been claiming late night parties, revelry and loud music until the wee hours of the morning coming from the land where the standoff is taking place.

Is it just me or does this look like the natives are using this situation as an opportunity to enjoy a summer of R&R?

I guess we’ll find out come September/October. Five bucks says they wander off to where they came from before first snowfall.

trust us? i think not. stay and impress upon the elected officials that putting the native land into another trust doesn’t change a g*d damned thing.

the oka crisis has not and will not end until the canadian government, through their band council system of graft, corruption, and blackmail is tossed and respect for six nations’ sovereignty (as is proclaimed by our sovereign queen)is regarded.

the caledonia crisis never began 28apr06. the dce site was reclaimed in feb06. court cases go back years. wiki is NOT a source.

Core, using the word reclaimed is a bit misleading don’t you think? Commandeering maybe. Forcefully taking, maybe. Reclaiming makes it sound like they picked up their laundry.

I never said the government wasn’t corrupt. But since you imply the natives aren’t content with the land purchase by McShifty, then I can assume his move was to appease Canadians and that John Tory’s presentation to the world that the land is still being “commandeered” is a very valid one.

BTW, How much corn and beans are being grown behind the barricades? Any fishing or hunting going on?

    I didn’t think so.

Ottawa Core, what is really going on in those “talks” with the government? What about the rumours of a casino? Any truth to that? The silence is what is infuriating people the most, IMHO.
