Let 'em Freeze In Caledonia

So now that the evenings are getting a tad cool, the natives who took over the housing development in Caledonia are looking for donations so they can finish off the homes that were started.

Janie Jameson, spokeswoman for the protesters, says no one wants to see the half-built houses “rot away” when they could be used for shelter during the winter.

She says protesters also need non-perishable food and warm clothing to help them maintain their occupation, which she says will only end when the land is returned to the Six Nations people.

I say let ’em freeze. Janie doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I would be glad to see the half built homes rot away and I am a part owner considering my tax dollars paid for the land and the half built homes. Let ’em build their own longhouses.

Considering a judge has ruled they must leave the land until the dispute is settled, I think that anyone donating to keep them there is aiding and abetting criminal activity and should be charged.

The OPP may be to chickenshit to get the natives off the land, but they certainly wouldn’t be too chickenshit to arrest some left leaning Canadian who would give these criminals comfort.

I think summer camp for these natives may be coming to an end as I predicted.

Gwen Boniface Resigns Before Held To Fire

I had to title my post as such because I am not sure if I should be jumping for joy that this inept leader is stepping down from her roll as OPP commissioner or if I should be upset that her resignation stole from us the opportunity of booting her ass out.

Once the Ottawa Police PSS performs it’s service and investigates the way the OPP handled the Caledonia affair, I think many Canadians will join me in congratulations for sites like CaledoniaWakeUpCall.

Bubbye Gwen. Hope you enjoy warm Guinness for drowning your sorrows.

I’d H/T this but everyone and their brother is posting about it.

How Do You Spell Conflict Of Interest? EmCeeGeeYouEyeEnTeeWhy

Or M-C-G-U-I-N-T-Y for those who prefer the actual letters.

Today I am livid. Why?? This is why.

Earlier in the day, OPP Commissioner Gwen Boniface announced that Ottawa police would investigate the actions of provincial police officers during an assault on two television camera operators at the protest scene.

First of all I live in Ottawa and it is MY property taxes paying for the Ottawa Police force. Since the city of Ottawa amalgamated our police force has dropped by close to 25% (252 now vs. 330 before amalgamation) in terms of the number of officers we have on the force. The city has grown from 780,000 (in the areas that amalgamated) to 845,000 now, the property taxes have gone up and now we are sending our boys to Caledonia to investigate the assault of the TV crew that OPP officers stood by watching.

Secondly, our illustrious Premier, the Yellow Bellied McShifty, whose family is very closely tied to our community was elected in Ottawa South. Does this not smack of a conflict of interest? McShifty has been at the heart of this whole conflict since it escalated out of control and having the Police force that protects his jurisdiction do the investigation is simply wrong.

Every citizen of Ontario has a big reason to be worried about this “investigation” *nudge nudge wink wink say no more* and every citizen of Ottawa has two reasons to be ticked off.

H/T Dust My Broom for the Globe and Mail quote.

ADDENDUM:  Today the Ottawa Police Chief Vince Bevan announced he will be stepping down in 6 months. Hmmmmmm … a man with good morals announces his retirement on the same day his police force is announced to be investigating the OPP affair in Caledonia.

ADDENDUM II:  Sandra Blaikie of A Channel was just giving her pre show info to CFRA and said Vince Bevan’s resignation was totally unexpected.  Double Hmmmm….

OPPA Tries To Stifle Free Speech

OPP union tries to shut down Caledonia website

Lawyers for the union sent a letter to the website’s host service, Bluehost Inc. informing them that “the organization that identifies itself as Caledonia Wake-up Call has and continues to publish on the website words and images that are false and misleading…”

Via Nealenews

Why would an unofficial OPP Union site want to shut down the site that displays information on the Caledonia affair?  Could it be the fact they have photos of the OPP officers who sat by doing nothing while laws were broken?  Could it be that they have a petition to have the head of the OPPA removed for allegedly telling officers to not act on the illegal activites being perpetrated by the Six Nations folks who have burned bridges, Dug up public roads, destroyed a power transformer, beaten on news crews, and tried to run down officers of the law and just about destroyed the chance of any normal person wanting to visit this town?  It’s no wonder that Yellow Bellied McShifty has given a nice advertising contract to friends of the Liberal party to help advertise for the companies losing business because they are in the “war zone”.

Why is the government working on court orders to shut down websites, when they will not act on court orders to get rid of the protesters??

What a freaking mess.  They can shut down a website with some pictures and articles on the destruction the protesters are doing, but they refuse to act on the destruction itself.  McShifty is a farce of a leader who is making Ontario the laughing stock of Canada.

City Of Ottawa Spends $780 Million (Of Mostly Federal Taxes) Moving People The Wrong Way

The City of Ottawa with a jampacked East-West traffic thoroughfare has chosen to blow almost a billion dollars of Federal money on a North-South light rapid transit that is, in effect, a streetcar. The route will be fully electric meaning overhead wires, and despite the belief it will be a train system, it will, in effect, be a streetcar style which will:

A) put enormous stress on the already burdened power grid,
B) open up the possibility to a power failure stranding thousands of people, including the possibility of being stuck under Dow’s Lake.
C) take more power which comes from coal fired and nuclear produced electricity costing $20M per km of track when the diesel electric option would have cost $4M per km.

The city forged ahead with this plan despite the countless calls to radio shows and to councillor offices which did change the mind of a few councillors. But not enough to have the system reassessed after this falls municipal election.

The booming and growing East-West regions of Kanata and Orleans which are outpacing any other areas in the city when it comes to growth, are left in the cold at this time. So why is the transit way moving North-South? Many are wondering but I can tell you that the Mayor of Ottawa is a staunch Liberal and has made his opinion very clear when helping campaign for provincial and federal Liberals who include the McGuinty Brothers. And guess where the McGuinty brothers got elected?
Ottawa South.

Guess which directions of traffic are voting Conservative these days? Yup. East-West. Guess what part of Ottawa has jumped from 35,000 people to close to 100,000 in less than ten years? The west end of Kanata-Stittsville.
To give you an idea I have included a small map of the city. The thick red line indicates the route of the streetcar (and that’s all it really is, a glorified streetcar). The white area represents the provincial and federal ridings of Ottawa South.

Something is REALLY fishy on this one. REALLY fishy. For those who may think that that extension across the south end of the city should discount this argument, I must point out that the majority of that extension was an afterthought when they realized how many people live in the Barrhaven area of southwest Ottawa.

Ironically, for most Barrhaven residents the bus that runs downtown will, more than likely, be eliminated and the streetcar LRT will take 15 extra minutes to reach the downtown core. When you take into account most residents of Barrhaven will need to head south via bus or car to the LRT station, the trip that used to take many 30 minutes will now take an hour. How many will just drive and save the time?

This North-South route, according to the Mayor’s own admission, is to prevent the need for a huge highway running East-West as the 401 does in Toronto, which implies that his move is to FORCE the city to grow southward and buck the trend of almost every major urban area in the world. The typical growth path for almost every city in North America is westward. This is a fact. Yet the Mayor has chosen to piss off every resident in Kanata and Stittsville by FORCING them to move east or South to avoid the long drives downtown in the jammed 417. Simple stupidity.

The legacy he thinks he is building will go down in infamy as the hated Chiarelli Streetcar. Mark my words.

Adscam2 Is Getting Interesting And It Just Might Make The Summer Fun!!

…and this could be fun.

Steve Janke has tracked down what the $210,000 got us as citizens and it isn’t pretty. So far there are three one page advertisements that depict a few people enjoying antiquing, fishing and cycling in the Caledonia area.

Caledonia 3
Caledonia 2
Caledonia 1

I don’t know about you guys, but I think these ads could have been done with a digital camera, a few family members and Adobe Photoshop. To prove this, I would like to point you all to Stephen Taylor’s quick work in creating knock offs.

In fact, I have a feeling that there will be dozens of knock off comedic versions in the blogosphere by the end of July. Oh look!! A third one already!!

Autistic Children Left In The Cold With CUPE Doll Wannabe

Yellow Bellied McShifty is getting his wish. Autistic children will not get IBI treatment beyond the age of 6, which will save the province quite a wad of cash.

In my fourth blog post ever (back in the early days), I posted how Ontario was “robbing autistic Paul to pay for Mary’s Peter”.

The gender reassignment surgery issue was closed last November with the tribunal stating that three of the four who were fighting to have their surgery paid for by tax payers got their wish, but the fourth (a CUPE employee) did not as he was not enrolled in the program before October 1, 1998. It also closed the door to any others entering the clinic after the 1998 date when the Harris government shut the door on paying for a pump-a-penus.

But the autistic cut being upheld will stand. Now many of the parents are either moving to Alberta and/or petitioning for a national level autism plan. I wish them, and their children well.

"Liberal" … "Advertising" … Is Your Spidey Sense Tingling Now Too?

Well it should be.

Steve Janke has done it again. In an incredible excercise of digging up the dirt, he may have just caught that Yellow Bellied McShifty with his pants down.

It is no secret that businesses in Caledonia are suffering because of the land dispute. The provincial government, run by the Liberals under Premier Dalton McGuinty, has offered to help.

In true Liberal fashion, they are offering to help with advertising.

An advertising agency that works in the Hamilton area called Play Advertising was awarded the contract.

The head of the firm is Brian Torsney. His sister is Paddy Torsney, a former Member of Parliament for Burlington for the federal Liberals. Burlington is near Hamilton. From 1985 to 1989, she was a special assistant to David Peterson, at the time the Liberal premier of Ontario.

The same David Peterson who was assigned the task of negotiating on behalf of the province in the Caledonia dispute.

Interesting.

Interesting indeed. I highly urge you all to go read this.

I think we are, once again, getting Officially Screwed by a Liberal and their ad agency friends.

Got Tingling Hands? See Your Chiropractor!!

I don’t normally talk about my physical ailments on this blog, but this one is aimed at the Yellow Bellied McShifty who cut chiropractic subsidies when he took over as our premier. It also may help some of you who notice symptoms that may pertain to a pinched nerve.
About three weeks ago, I started having problems with both of my hands tingling depending on how I positioned them. Whether it was my left hand resting easily on my car door with the window rolled down or my right arm folded with my hand resting under my pillow at night. It happened to both hands while sitting at my desk sometimes and other countless ways.

I discounted the idea that my hands were falling asleep because as soon as I moved them and gave them a shake the tingling went away without the usual pins and needles that someone gets when an appendage falls asleep.

On Wednesday night I woke up with REALLY bad tingling in both hands and a feeling of pressure that made my hands feel like they were going to explode.

So Thursday afternoon I was off to my chiropractor. I described my symptoms to him and he held my neck at a specific angle while he twisted my arm inward with my hand held backwards like I was taking money from behind me. (Being a Conservative, he joked “like you’re a Liberal taking a payoff” which had me in stitches). Lo and behold the numbness was there right away.

He had me assume the “Liberal position” with my other hand and the tingling was the same.

He performed a quick adjustment on my neck and I have slept peacefully for the past two nights. I have also noticed that the tingling is pretty much gone. I think one or two more trips to my chiropractor over the next two weeks and I should be good as new.

The only problem is that the hit to my wallet is more than it used to be thanks to yellow-belly. But a small price considering the dramatic effects chiropractic has given me.

Thanks Dr. Jeff!!

P.S. A few years ago I dislocated a rib golfing over the weekend.  A problem which would have taken a month or more on muscle relaxants and bedrest to correct. This same chiropractor adjusted my back on the following Monday and Thursday and I was golfing the next weekend. Being a golfer himself, he knew what caused my dislocation, told me to keep my forward arm straight in the backswing to prevent it happening again. Not only did he fix my back but he fixed my golf game. I shot several strokes better that following weekend with the tip.
Please tell us about your chiropractic story in the comments below!!

Dalton McGuinty Buys Off Land Developer To Avoid Conflict

H/T to Jack’s Newswatch for the link below.

In light of this news, the name Dalton McGuinty will never be used on this blog again. Forevermore, the poll on the right side of the page will be used to determine what name the yellow bellied Ontario Premier will be known as.

I am thorougly disgusted at the solution McGuinty has come up with avoid doing what is right. Whether you think the land belongs to the Six Nations or whether you think the police should have gone in and cleaned house is irrelevant. The solution of buying the land developer out with our tax dollars is a disgrace.

On today, tax freedom day, Dalton McGuinty has chosen to slap us all in the face by pushing the day out further into the year.
