Global Warming Cooked My Sushi

Cooked FishToday I went to my favourite sushi place and ordered a rainbow roll. I was expecting to see the roll appear with a nice blend of colours across the plate and sink my teeth into some nice raw fish with some ginger and wasabi.

The chef did his thing but by the time it got from the sushi bar to my table it looked like this.

Global warming cooked my sushi.

I’m not making this up … I’m not allowed to do that.

hahaha… Is David Suzuki in town?(or maybe his hot air preceeds him) I’ve heard a lot of stories like that recently…

Incidently, what is this sushi place you speak of – I have yet to find good sushi in Ottawa.

Jordan (#1) I didn’t say it was a “good Sushi place”, I said it was my favourite. (proximity is a big factor). Living in the west end (Kanata) makes it a bit difficult to get to the ones downtown for lunch.

I tend to get to Sushi Kanata in the Centrum outdoor walking mall. Kinki downtown is way too expensive but make a very untraditional, but good Eda Mame.

A friend of mine goes to one in Bells Corner’s often and swears it’s better than Sushi Kanata. I haven’t been there enough to know.

I’ll probably be there later this week with him and get the name up here.

The Bell’s Corners sushi place (Taste of Japan) is actually quite fresh and authentic.

Stay AWAY from the Sushi Bar on Merivale Road – it is horrendously over priced and stale.

    Cheers!
