Dion's Playground Tactics

Reminiscent of the days we played tag and foot hockey behind the school, Stephane Dion has crossed the line back to childhood antics.

The Liberal leader joked that the exercise room at Stornaway — the official residence of the leader of the Opposition — had been refurbished.

And he said the new workout room would benefit his successor.

“Maybe Mr. Harper will have the opportunity to lose his (extra) weight now because we have this exercise room,” Dion said.

From a family member or close friend this would not be taken as an offensive remark, but from the head of an opposing party?

Say you’re sorry Stephane.

    Mr. Harper’s girth suggests Dion made a obvious observation. Harper has grown fat in office — must be result of hanging out with the socialist crowd.

    I find the whining and complaining about Harper’s tummy tum tum being large when the Conservatives allow their so-called Foreign “Affairs” minister to put woman down calling things like “dog” and conservatives calling woman bitches, whores, etc. because they were angry that a certain person crossed the floor.

    Well, Harper is fat and if you take a scan in Question Period and look at the Conservative Party’s MP’s you will notice a lot of obesity there.

    Calling someone a whore, bitch or whatever is certainly a lot worse than saying someone needs to get in shape and all weak people like Helena Guergis can do (because she’s told and can’t think for herself) is defend a man who’s comments were so vilel they’ll never, never be forgotten. Guergis actually doesn’t mind that her sex (and I mean female and not her love life) gets put down like they are garbage.

    So, you upset about Harper’s girth mean diddlty squat!

    Dion got his “attack ad” in for free. Perhaps he could give the Conservatives a clinic in being cost-effective.

    I suppose that it’s better to have a fat waist like Harper than a fat head like the environmental hero Mr. Dion.

    “Well, Harper is fat and if you take a scan in Question Period and look at the Conservative Party’s MP’s you will notice a lot of obesity there.”

    Is judging people on their physical state now fair game? The Libs don’t want any fat voters, or uggers.

    Actually,these most recent personal attacks by both camps have done a great job of exposing just how myopic and childishly partisan most political bloggers are.

    Sigh….

    If all fat Canadians voted for PMSH, he’d have his majority!!!
    The granola/tofu/beansprouts crowd likely votes Dipper/Green.

    Voters could be divided into food groups, and polled that way for their voting intentions.

    Silly? Not as silly as ‘Harper is Fat’, for the third time, becoming a MSM issue.

    Sandi (#2) If you were upset at the “dog” remark then I am sure you wouldn’t mind if the conservatives shut down parliament on this issue for a month and a half, the approximate amount of time the Liberals were ALL dogs on a bone. They wouldn’t stop buzzing about McKay’s alleged remark and burnt through millions in tax payer dollars wasting time looking into it.

    THAT’S the Liberal way. The Conservatives just leave it up to the free world like the press and bloggers to take care of.

    Who would you rather have minding your tax dollars?

    Hmmmm – talk about money and time wasted. The Conservatives are the most immature government we have ever had. Think about all the time wasted with trying to demean someone, saying 13 years blah, blah, blah and never, never answering questions. Now, with the blah, blah and the time it takes for the PM to write and/or approved negative bashing and the time taken by the inept Conservative MP’s to research the garbage – on taxpayer money must be stunning.

    The “so-called can take a punch party” whines and moans everytime they are criticized in any way, run away from the press, pout like a bunch of junior high school kids.

    Talk about wasting tax dollars, our PM is running around the country making announcements – jet, fuel and staff costs when all he has to do is hold a press conference. Taxpayer money well wasted.

    I’m not saying anymore on this, but

    Have another beer or two before you start typing. We might understand what you are saying.

    The “so-called can take a punch party” whines and moans everytime they are criticized in any way, run away from the press, pout like a bunch of junior high school kids.

    Did you see David McGuinty crying “They quoted something I said before I entered public office” wahh wahh wahh. He even asked for a retraction. I’ll dig the Hansard up for you.

    Talk about wasting tax dollars, our PM is running around the country making announcements – jet, fuel and staff costs when all he has to do is hold a press conference. Taxpayer money well wasted.

    Ahhh,let’s talk about wasted money on travel shall we?

    Did you see the whistleblower report on foreign travel under the Liberal government?

    To quote:It reveals that Canadian taxpayers pay for hundreds of hotel rooms every year, in exotic or resort locations.

    Here are some examples from 2003/2004:

    * 800 rooms in Cancun, Mexico
    * 636 rooms in Barbados
    * 523 rooms in San Jose, Costa Rica
    * 290 rooms in Marrakech, Morocco
    * 192 rooms in Casablanca, Morrocco
    * 167 rooms in Montego Bay, Jamaica
    * 107 rooms in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Mexico
    * 98 rooms in Bermuda
    * 93 rooms in Nassau, Bahamas

    “I can understand there being conferences in exotic locations occasionally and having to send some government employees there, ” said Smith. “But, 636 room nights in Barbados for one year seems awfully excessive to me. That basically amounts to two government employees travelling to Barbados every day of the year.”

    Or how about precious Joe Volpe’s trips to Buffalo via Limo?? (Not to mention his $138 pizza lunches)

    And considering you’re taking it on the chin, i can see why you’re not saying anything more on this. I kinda wish you would.

    Didn’t Martin and the Liberal make a huge deal about a couple of speeches Harper made while he was heading the National Citizen’s Coalition? Sauce for the goose, Mr. McGuinty?
