RIP Jack Layton – NDP Leader

I disagreed with his politics. I cringed when he put on that smug smile. His left wing soundbites were like finger nails on the chalkboard to my ears. He reminded me of a used car salesman…or even worse, the guy from the Computer learning CD commercials who would say “Please try my products.” But he sure made politics interesting.

He carried the NDP to heights only he could take them to. His recent success helped to dismantle the Liberals by giving Canadians two choices. Conservative or NDP. Capitalist or Socialist. The creation of the great divide has served my chosen party well and, I believe, it will continue to moving forward so for that I am grateful to him.

He was a darn good adversary. If he fought cancer as hard as he fought for his political beliefs, he sure gave it his all. Cancer also took my father and one of my best friends way too early in their lives. My sympathies go out not only to Olivia and his family. But they go out to all members of the NDP as today is a day they are all in mourning. And even though I disagreed with his politics, his death has saddened me along with many other conservatives.

RIP Jack Layton. I hope CTV doesn’t mind me sharing a clip that I put up on my blog a few years ago. The lighter side of the man. Hopefully he has his guitar with him in heaven.

I’m very sad to hear this — didn’t share his ideological stance, but as a fellow Canadian, I feel this loss.

My best to his family and friends. RIP, Hon. Jack Layton.

Didn’t like the way he sold out anglo and allophone voters in Quebec to court Quebec nationalists. But he isn’t the only federal leader doing so – he was just a little more blatant about it.

Didn’t like the incredibly nasty French ads versus Harper which painted a 1984-type fascist state to come under Harper and which supposedly our troops would go along with.

Also wasn’t thrilled about how he and his wife lied about the massage parlour incident and took us for fools.

But he was a handsome scoundrel and a passionate one. He usually put his cards on the table unlike the Liberals and told us what kind of Canada he wanted. He was a great debator and, like Tommy Douglas used to be, one of the members of Parliament who helped keep our collective history alive.

May he rest in peace – he died far too young.

It is a sad day for Canada. John (Jack) Layton was a believer in Canada. John Layton’s absence from the political table will be a profound loss. John Layton politics in his genes. His grandfather, Gilbert Layton, was a cabinet minister in the Union Nationale government of Maurice Duplessis in Quebec. His father, Robert Layton served as a Cabinet minister in the 80’s under Brian Mulroney. His son Mike Layton is currently a Toronto City Councillor.

Many will remember Layton when, as a Toronto City Councillor, he stood among the crowd who mocked and physically abused pro-life activists who peacefully witnessed to the dignity of all human life before Morgentaler’s Toronto abortuary in October 1988. He urged the police to arrest the pro-lifers and complained that they had not already done so before he got there. At that time, smiling Jack forgot to smile.

All this garbage I’ve been reading elsewhere about how God should “have mercy” on his soul is nauseating. No, God will NOT have mercy on Jack Layton. He was pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-euthanasia, pro-big union and a staunch Marxist. He supported every loony toon cause in the land just for votes. He is now lost forever.

Read your Bibles! Layton is now in that place of outer darkness, where there is the deafening sound of weeping and gnashing of teeth of countless lost souls like him. He will now have to contemplate the coming judgement, where he will be resurrected to stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ. No lawyer, no politician, no king, no Pope, and no “human rights” laws will save him. His ultimate destination is the lake of fire, which is the second death (Revelation 21:8).

He was an evil man who supported evil, anti-Christian causes. He sent himself to hell. He was a freeloader who lived on our dime and was buried on our dime. Goodbye Jack. Now you know just how wrong you really were.
