Quebec Students Complaining Can Kiss My Ass – Yes. I Said It. They Can Kiss My Ass.

Check it out.

I paid over $6,000 university tuition this year for my son’s post-secondary education here in Ontario.  Although an additional tax break or two would have been nice, the tax man strikes everyone except Quebec.  While here in Ontario, my TurboTax Canada software remained free of any additional tax breaks this year.

The increase roughly works out to a $300 increase per student per year, which would still leave Quebec with some of the lowest tuition rates in Canada.

The average annual cost to attend a Quebec university — $2,519 — is far lower than university tuition in other provinces.

More math as per John Robson. $2500 is 1/10th of the price of what it costs. The rest is subsidized. Across Canada, the average is twice this rate meaning student’s pay about 1/5th of the actual price of their education. And 1 in 5 Canadians go to University. This means the average Joe out there who does NOT go to university is paying the same amount towards education as someone who DOES go. How wrong is that?

So yes. Get off your asses, get off the street, get INTO the classroom, and sit down on your asses, before the rest of us collectively KICK your whiney, over-entitled asses!!

Bob Rae Sucks at Correlating Things

From Hansard Feb. 28th, 2012

Hon. Bob Rae (Toronto Centre, Lib.):
Mr. Speaker, I have just learned that a court document has been produced from the Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections saying that there were 31 phone calls between the Conservative campaign in Guelph and RackNine and that there were 40 calls between Conservative operatives in Ottawa and RackNine.
Could the government explain that information in conjunction with the statement that was just made by the parliamentary secretary?

This is like me saying:

Mr. Speaker. Police LUD reports indicated that there were 31 phone calls between MP Bob Rae’s House and Pizza Pizza in 2011 and that there were 43,000 calls between stoned teenagers and Pizza Pizza. Could Bob Rae explain that information and how it relates to him?

To quote Bugs Bunny….What a marooooon.

Occupier Found Dead in Vancouver

Tragic.

A 20-something female died late Saturday afternoon of what authorities are calling a “medical emergency” after she stopped breathing in a tent at the Occupy Vancouver site.

The woman, whom Occupy participants were calling “Ashley” was found unresponsive by Occupy’s medical team around 4:30 p.m. and was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The death, following an overdose at the site Thursday, prompted Mayor Gregor Robertson to say there is an urgent need to shut down the site due to “life safety” issues.

Flea Party Protests On Wall Street/Bay Street. Astroturf planted by George Soros?

The rise of the Flea Party has been quick but is it real grassroots?  Or is it Astroturf?

Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising against Wall Street. Moreover, Soros and the protesters share some ideological ground.

So what do you think?  One of Barack Obama’s biggest supporters is George Soros, who is linked to the Tides Foundation. The Tides Foundation in turn backs so many smaller left wing organizations that are out there garnering support from and giving it to the Flea Party.  In turn, the Flea Party is now protesting big Wall Street types.  Did you know that George Soros makes all his money from running his massive hedge fund?  i.e. he is a Wall Stree type.

Something smells fishy here.

Obama Two Faced On Raising Debt Ceiling

In 2006, he called it “a sign of leadership failure”.

He said it was a “sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay it’s own bills.”

And finally, he voted against raising the debt ceiling in 2006 and did not even bother to vote in 2007 or 2008.

But now that he is POTUS, Barack Obama wants to raise the debt ceiling.

Talk about being OfficiallyScrewed!!!

Past Speaker Pelosi Takes Cake…Then Claims She Baked It And Gave To American People

I tweeted this but this story just HAS to get out there. It’s simply preposterous what past Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has claimed.

At her final press conference as House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said, “Deficit reduction has been a high priority for us. It is our mantra, pay-as-you-go.”

The numbers tell a different story.

When the Pelosi Democrats took control of Congress on January 4, 2007, the national debt stood at $8,670,596,242,973.04. The last day of the 111th Congress and Pelosi’s Speakership on December 22, 2010 the national debt was $13,858,529,371,601.09 – a roughly $5.2 trillion increase in just four years. Furthermore, the year over year federal deficit has roughly quadrupled during Pelosi’s four years as speaker, from $342 billion in fiscal year 2007 to an estimated $1.6 trillion at the end of fiscal year 2010.

Ya gotta love her moxie though. She claims their priority is deficit reduction yet the deficit under her watch goes up $5.2Trillion.

NOTE: for those following my twitter I tweeted Billion and deleted to retweet Trillion. Oops!!)

New Democrat Wants To Redistribute Wealth

They finally said it.

Rookie NDP MP Dany Morin of Chicoutimi–Le Fjord, while speaking in the house on Wednesday June 22, 2011 admitted that the NDP want to redistribute wealth.

Mr. Speaker, I would like to say to the Conservative member that the NDP supports wealth creation. However, unlike our Conservative colleagues, we support the redistribution of this wealth in society.

We all know this means dipping (no pun intended) into the pocket of those who have and putting into the pocket of those who do not have with a “commission” for the bureaucracy. How big that commission is? Or who decides who is a have or a have not is not up to you but up to the state.

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

Yellow Bellied McShifty Slams Ontario Rural Community…Again

On Friday, Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals decided to put a moratorium on offshore wind projects. I thought a lot about this over the weekend and commented to friends that it is possibly the beginning of the coming landslide in the green energy kybosh which may be the only thing that saves the provincial liberals from a rout in the October 2011 elections.

Then I read this article in the Toronto Star.

In particular this section.

Offshore applications to date make up only a handful of the many hundreds received so far, and the government’s terse news release pointed out that none have been built. Queen’s Park is pulling the plug until “further scientific research is conducted.”

But the reality is that public opinion research, rather than scientific research, is driving the government’s agenda these days. A number of Liberal ridings are being buffeted by wind turbine troubles, notably the Scarborough seat held by Energy Minister Brad Duguid.

The premier likes to boast in his speeches about Ontario’s groundbreaking renewable energy policies and his focus on good government. He has long resisted NIMBYism, and his ministers are known to mock them as BANANAs — Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything. But with an election coming, his new priority is putting out political fires — most recently by nixing the gas-fired power plant in Oakville that threatened another Liberal seat.

The opposition is profiting from the anti-wind movement, with many MPPs stirring it up in their ridings at every opportunity. Most of the huffing and puffing is directed against onshore wind farms, which face a 550-metre setback. Offshore turbines, by contrast, faced a five-kilometre setback — virtually out of sight, but by no means out of mind.

So what does this mean?

Well it means that they cancelled a tiny portion of wind, primarily on Lake Ontario, to save Brad Duguid’s Scarborough seat by cancelling wind turbine projects that have to be 5km from shore but it leaves the countless wind farms that only have to be 550 meters from a neighbour’s property. If health was truly the cause of the cancellation, then they would have cancelled the ones that are potentially closer to people. But a) this would affect the bulk of the programs and b) it would not help save Brad Duguid’s job. And since Duguid is now the face of Green Energy in Ontario, it would be a devastating loss and hit to the Green Energy Act if he was unseated.

So rural farmers who make up the bulk of the current wind farms (and their neighbours who make up the bulk of the neighbours of wind farms) get the shaft.

Sound familiar? Well it should. You see back on July 2nd, McGuinty also cut the rates for lucrative 10kW MicroFIT solar projects that were ground based from 80.2 cents per kWh to 64.2 pretty much making them unviable. Yet he left the rooftop installations at 80.2 cents per kWh. The reason they sited was that the ground based installations were cheaper. But they were wrong. The ground based systems need heavy ballasting, far longer trenches, potentially new hydro poles, transformers etc depending on the location. Whereas rooftop systems have all that readily available. and simply connect up to the power near your home meter.

So he slaps the rural community on July 2nd and tells them they can’t really take part in solar and now he slaps them again by telling them Scarborough resident’s health is in jeopardy when they are 5km from an installation but farmers that are potentially 550 meters from a windfarm are not at the same risk. Can we say OfficiallyScrewed?

The ONLY thing that would make this windfarm situation right is if he puts a hold on all ONSHORE windfarm projects as well.

Code Pink Rally Attendees Pushing For Violence

Watch this video. No this is not a bunch of “tea baggers” (i.e. Tea Party members). This is a rally held by left wing group Code Pink whose slogan is “women for peace”. They don’t sound so peaceful.

But for some reason the perception is that it is the right of the political spectrum calling for violence.

WARNING: This is truly offensive video.

I just have to say that if this group ever gets traction, we are all OfficiallyScrewed.
