In 2006, he called it “a sign of leadership failure”.
He said it was a “sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay it’s own bills.”
And finally, he voted against raising the debt ceiling in 2006 and did not even bother to vote in 2007 or 2008.
But now that he is POTUS, Barack Obama wants to raise the debt ceiling.

republicrats are no really no better (unless of course they dont actually raise the limit). it is completely simple that even grade schoolers could understand it; if you dont want to go further into debt then dont raise the debt limit. but of course such an action is completely untenable politically speaking for both sides and so coming soon will be a $3trillion raise in the limit followed by a broken economy in less than a year.
