Past Speaker Pelosi Takes Cake…Then Claims She Baked It And Gave To American People

I tweeted this but this story just HAS to get out there. It’s simply preposterous what past Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has claimed.

At her final press conference as House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said, “Deficit reduction has been a high priority for us. It is our mantra, pay-as-you-go.”

The numbers tell a different story.

When the Pelosi Democrats took control of Congress on January 4, 2007, the national debt stood at $8,670,596,242,973.04. The last day of the 111th Congress and Pelosi’s Speakership on December 22, 2010 the national debt was $13,858,529,371,601.09 – a roughly $5.2 trillion increase in just four years. Furthermore, the year over year federal deficit has roughly quadrupled during Pelosi’s four years as speaker, from $342 billion in fiscal year 2007 to an estimated $1.6 trillion at the end of fiscal year 2010.

Ya gotta love her moxie though. She claims their priority is deficit reduction yet the deficit under her watch goes up $5.2Trillion.

NOTE: for those following my twitter I tweeted Billion and deleted to retweet Trillion. Oops!!)

New Democrat Wants To Redistribute Wealth

They finally said it.

Rookie NDP MP Dany Morin of Chicoutimi–Le Fjord, while speaking in the house on Wednesday June 22, 2011 admitted that the NDP want to redistribute wealth.

Mr. Speaker, I would like to say to the Conservative member that the NDP supports wealth creation. However, unlike our Conservative colleagues, we support the redistribution of this wealth in society.

We all know this means dipping (no pun intended) into the pocket of those who have and putting into the pocket of those who do not have with a “commission” for the bureaucracy. How big that commission is? Or who decides who is a have or a have not is not up to you but up to the state.

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

Smackdown: PM Harper Returns Liberal Leader Michael Zsohar’s Serve On Roland Garros Claycourt

I love Question Period. Call me a goofball. I actually caught this without sound on a TV in the lobby of a customer’s yesterday afternoon. Good timing on my part. The bolded part is a nice zinger that plays on Liberal Leader Michael Zsohar’s status as a temporary visitor to our great nation.

Hon. Michael Ignatieff (Leader of the Opposition, Lib.):
Even France is saying that the costs of this summit are getting out of control, and France knows something about extravagance. Its foreign minister is making jokes about the lake.
How can the Prime Minister preach austerity and restraint to Canadians and his G20 colleagues when he has lost control of the cost of his own summit?

Right Hon. Stephen Harper (Prime Minister, CPC):
Mr. Speaker, of course, as has been observed by many people, the cost of these summits in this age is very expensive because of the security demands placed on the summits. Well over 80% of the cost for our summit are, of course, for security, and this is similar to all similar types of summits.
As for extravagance in France, I would not know about that, but perhaps the Leader of the Opposition, at his home in Provence, could tell us all about it.

Harper: 15, Ignatieff: L’oeuf

Liberal Leader Michael Zsohar Loves US Eh? (or is that U.S.A.)

Iggy Loves US eh

When I was a boy, I used to love “make-believe” and “pretend”. I would run around the house with a towel waving behind me pretending I was Superman or Batman, or I would paint a broken broomstick handle blue and have lightsaber battles with my friends. But the reality always came back to me when my mom would yell “Dinner!!”.

Liberal Leader Michael Zsohar hasn’t heard the dinner bell and continues on with his “make-believe” and “pretend”. I can see him day dreaming about meeting heads of state  or attending the G8 or G20 summits. I bet he even has furniture picked out for 24 Sussex. It’s really quite amusing for him and for Canadian voters.

From the CPC website:

On Monday evening, Michael Ignatieff told an elite group of Liberals that his 34 years away from Canada made him “more of a Canadian.” (National Post. May 18, 2010)

Are we talking about the same Michael Ignatieff who praised the United States, going so far as to call himself an American?

“You have to decide what kind of America you want…It’s your country just as much as it is mine.” (C-SPAN, June 17, 2004)
“I want to make it clear; there isn’t an anti-American bone in my body. I love the republic I live in.” (Sunday Edition with Michael Enright, CBC Radio, Sept. 16, 2001.
“I think that one of the ‐–‐ that almost the nemesis of American power is that we are deeply hated and simultaneously supposed to have magical powers.” (Charlie Rose Show, April 28, 2004)
Are we talking about the same Michael Ignatieff who repeatedly bashed Canada, its flag and its people?

Ignatieff told an interviewer that “the only thing he missed about Canada was Algonquin Park”. (Maclean’s, November 20, 2006)
Ignatieff described the Canadian flag as “a passing imitation of a beer label” (The Observer, July 8, 1990), and
Ignatieff said, “Quebeckers walk around with this fantasy of how different they are, but they are just North Americans who speak French…They take the minor difference and magnify it.” (Globe and Mail. April 2, 1998)

Nova Scotia Set To Follow Quebec's Lead

Next Tuesday April 6th, the NDP government of Nova Scotia is likely to raise their provincial sales tax. The Politic‘s Mark Peters points this out in comments to our post on Quebec Liberals raising sales taxes.

Tie in the expectation of an American consumption tax (i.e. a federal sales tax) and we clearly have the answer from far left of the political spectrum.

Liberal “deep thinkers” in Montreal were just waxing poetic on a carbon tax and thinking “Maybe if we smother it in sausage gravy, they scheme, it will be tasty.

It’s no wonder we all don’t just throw our hands in the air and jump on board the sausage gravy train.

Smackdown: Chuckercanuck Wakes Up Liberal Youth Across Canada

I wonder if all those ambitious wankers who sign up to their campus Liberal club have started wetting their khaki dockers over their life commitment to the Big Dreamers. What once looked like a meal ticket now’s a chump’s dead end.

Blogger ChuckerCanuck discussing what must be going through young Liberal minds after the Liberal Party popularity numbers sink to 23%, a low water mark.

Right now across Canada there are Liberal youth who should read this and rethink which campus club they plan to join.

Liberals Chequing Out After Cashing In

Right now in the news the Liberal Party of Canada is working hard to make giant novelty cheques dirty. Whenever governments spend money, they have traditionally had a big novelty cheque created which the local politicians and the representatives of those receiving the money have a photo op. This has been customary for decades or even longer.

Yet now that they have demanded billions on infrastructure spending, I find it completely ridiculous that the Liberals feel the photo ops are abuse of tax dollars for partisan purposes. Below is a snippit from the National Post from Saturday February 19th, 2000.

OTTAWA and QUEBEC CITY – Jean Chretien, the Prime Minister, yesterday said his government had nothing to apologize for in seeking to reap maximum partisan political benefit from disbursing $1-billion worth of federal job grants across Canada each year.

He had always made sure since taking power in October, 1993, that voters were left in no doubt that it was his Liberals who were distributing such grants, he said.

“Listen,” he added, “we are the government … I don’t see why we can’t try to get credit for what we do. I hope we do so. There is nothing to be ashamed in that.”

Thanks to Stephen Taylor for digging this one up.

Now correct me if I am wrong but was Jean Chretien not a Liberal? The fact that the Liberals didn’t seem to mind mind “cashing in” on the photo ops when they were in power just makes them look like hypocrites now that the shoe is on the other foot.

Obama Communication Chief Says Mao One Of Her Favourite Philosophers. How Many More Communist Sympathizers Will Obama Put In Key Positions?

White House Communication Chief Anita Dunn quoted from last June.

And the third tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers, Mao Tse Tung and Mother Teresa, not often coupled with each other, but the two people I turn to most.“.

Aside from the fact that she would put Mao Tse Tung and Mother Teresa in the same sentence, giving credence to a tyrannical dictator is simply wrong for someone who speaks for the President.

First we had Van Jones, the now resigned Green Jobs Czar, a self avowed Communist.

Then we had Mark Lloyd, the FCC Diversity Czar, with his ties to communism.

And now Anita Dunn. The woman who has stated she is treating Fox News as they would treat any other enemy. A woman who who has stated that Mao Tse Tung is one of her favorite political philosophers.

The same Mao Tse Tung who was responsible for over 70 Million peace time deaths in China. The same Mao who treated the lives of Chinese citizens as if they were flecks of dust.

To quote Lady Gaga, “Obama!! Are You Listening!!!”

Because we are.

You say you’ll change the constitution
Well you know
We’d all love to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
Well you know
You better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow.

Beckbytes – Arguing With Idiots About Capitalism II

From Glenn Beck’s new book Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government comes this clip about privatization corporatization.

A.D.D. Moment – New Zealand corporatized their postal service in 1987. As Cornell professor Richard Geddes notes, that change “led to improvements in efficiency, a 40% reduction in the system’s workforce, a doubling in labor productivity, a decrease in the cost of sending a letter and a decrease in the price of a basic stamp.” And they did it all without impacting service in either rural or urban communities.

Beckbytes: Arguing With Idiots About Capitalism

From Glenn Beck’s new book Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government comes this gem on how capitalism performs when compared to socialistic government programs.

Profits=Progress: In January 2006, New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin announced 314 new public projects as part of his rebuilding effort after Katrina. Over two and a half years later, just six of them were complete. Conversely, Wal-Mart had 126 of their stores damaged in the hurricane; 110 of them were up and running within ten days.
