So the Liberals and NDP wanted debate on the role of Canada in Afghanistan. But now that they have it and a vote on a two year extension, they are slamming the Tories for playing political games with the timing.
This is hypocrisy at its’ finest.

Apparently five years wasn’t long enough for them to prepare.
I was infuriated by the letter read by the former Leader of the NDP suggesting that Canadian lives are somehow more valuable than Afghani lives. That apparently the NDP believe the efforts of the Afghan police and military aren’t worth supporting with Canadian lives.
Then came the suggestion by various opposition MPs that a little progress against the Taliban in Kabul somehow means (to these MPs, at least) that the whole of Afghanistan is secure and Canadian military might is unneeded. Disappointing.
These opposition MPs have sent a clear message to the Taliban about Canada’s resolve: that Canada is not committed to the defeat of the Taliban. How many soldiers will be killed to test the breaking point of Canada’s resolve? That so many MPs voted against our troops is disgusting.
