Sir Paul McCartney Never Learned That People In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones

Sir Paul McCartney, the man who has more money than brains (just ask his ex-wife Heather Mills), made this remark the other night.

McCartney thanked the audience and noted how nice it was to receive the award from the Library of Congress, and “in fact, after the last eight years it’s great to have a president who knows what a library is.”

Let’s compare.

Elementary School
George W. Bush – Yes
Paul McCartney – Yes

Secondary School
George W. Bush – Yes
Paul McCartney – Yes

College/University
George W. Bush – Yes (Yale)
Paul McCartney – No

Business School
George W. Bush – Yes (Harvard no less and the ONLY U.S. President to have earned an MBA)
Paul McCartney – No

Marriage classes?
George W. Bush (not sure but he’s still married to his sweetheart and probably treats her like gold)
Paul McCartney – Probably not but he sure knows how to pay through the nose for a divorce.

Sir Paul should be a bit more careful with his wise cracks.

McCartney’s was a cheap shot, to be sure. That said, I don’t think it right to equate level of education with intelligence.

(And, to be fair, the son of a multimillionaire Yale alumnus most certainly had more opportunity in the world of academe than a lower middle-class Liverpool boy.)

    I’d have to disagree, Brian….
Mick Jagger, another lower middle class English lad took time enough to get an MBA in Economics.

Let me correct myself…I’m not sure if MJ finished his courses. Apologies.

beachnut, you’re correct, of course, that Jagger never completed his degree.

The former president began working on his MBA at roughly the same age McCartney started work on Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which brings me back to my point. I don’t think that level of education is necessarily a reflection of intelligence.

Of our three national party leaders, Michael Ignatieff is far ahead in terms of degrees, while Stephen Harper pulls up the rear.

I think there must be some confusion on whether the facts I posted were there to compare Paul McCartney’s education with George W. Bush’s or whether it was simply supporting facts for the Subject of the post. i.e. “Sir Paul McCartney Never Learned That People In Glass Houses Should Not Throw Stones”

George Walker Bush is no orator yup we can go along with that. Did he get the job done and protect America? I think he did. The current President is a great speaker, and there is NOBODY HOME! IMO “Sir” Paul is a great entertainer but I wish he would STFU and sing he has the political smarts of a f*****G hamster.

Bush has an MBA and is married to a librarian. (So much for the library cheap shot, Paul). He also owned a pro sports team, was the leader of the free world for two terms, lives in an environmentally friendly home while Al Gore fakes it and he can even fly a freaking fighter jet. I would be suprised if McCartney even has a driver’s license. And he has the nerve to tell everyone to go easy on Obama? Give me a break. McCartney is in bad need of a ‘Dixie Chicks blowback’.

Shut up and sing Paul. Shut up and sing.
