Just Because I Like The Commercials

For those of you who have seen the commercial where the elderly woman is telling the young man about different items in a pharmacy and says “This one heats up, and this one tingles and this one is minty”, etc etc.  And it ends up being a gum commercial.

Well when the young man leaves, the shot of the pharmacy, called Surrey Drug Mart which is in a little plaza where a great little pub called KCMcFly’s is.  I used to hang out there and play trivia on the NTN network a couple of nights a week back in the early 90’s.

Nice to know it is still there.

This may not be interesting to most of you, but tough noogies.  It’s my blog and I want to point this out because it was a part of my life and I like the gum commercial.

Bud Sucks! Bud Sucks!! Bud Sucks!!!

If I’ve told people once, i’ve told them a thousand times. Budweiser beer simply sucks. I mean that from a professional standpoint. This is not a personal preference. This is strictly based on fact.

If you don’t believe me, believe ratebeer.com. This site rates every beer out there. If you think a beer is obscure, I bet you find it here and it has been rated.

Well over 3000 people have rated Budweiser and it rates 0. Yes you heard me. ZERO!!! It does have a rating of 3 for style but on a scale of one to 100, it rates ZERO!!!!

So for all you Bud fans out there. Either you have not expanded your taste horizons or you simply have poor taste in beer.

Maybe The World Just Wanted Plastic

I read this article and immediately got sick to my stomach.

Most alarmingly, the (plastic bag) industry has highlighted news reports linking reusable shopping bags to the spread of disease. Like this one, from the Los Angeles Times last May: “A reusable grocery bag left in a hotel bathroom caused an outbreak of norovirus-induced diarrhea and nausea that struck nine of 13 members of a girls’ soccer team in October, Oregon researchers reported Wednesday.” The norovirus may not have political clout, but evidently it, too, is rooting against plastic bags.
Warning of disease may seem like an over-the-top scare tactic, but research suggests there’s more than anecdote behind this industry talking point. In a 2011 study, four researchers examined reusable bags in California and Arizona and found that 51 percent of them contained coliform bacteria. The problem appears to be the habits of the reusers. Seventy-five percent said they keep meat and vegetables in the same bag. When bags were stored in hot car trunks for two hours, the bacteria grew tenfold.
That study also found, happily, that washing the bags eliminated 99.9 percent of the bacteria. It undercut even that good news, though, by finding that 97 percent of people reported that they never wash their bags.

Can we finally just admit that fresh plastic bags is the safe, sanitary way to transport the stuff we put into our children’s mouths??

Even George Carlin knows that a little bit of plastic is NOT going to have much of an effect on the planet.

Thomas Mulcair Urges Chief Spence to End Hunger Strike

Spence, who has been living on a diet of fish broth, vitamins and tea since Dec. 11.  —CBC News

It is not known just how many calories Spence is ingesting, subsisting onfish broth and medicinal teas (a true hunger striker drinks only water).  —Leader Post

Spence has admitted she’s snacking, even detailing her menu (fish soup and moose soup) but that hasn’t stopped the Media Party from reporting her hunger strike as not only true, but putting the saint precariously close to death.  —Sun News

Here at OfficiallyScrewed.com we are still waiting for her to start one.
