Yellow Belly McShifty Hides Behind Federal Skirts

Today I am appauled appalled. I am disgusted. I am angry. I am upset.

Dalton Yellow Bellied McShifty is passing the Caledonia buck to the feds. DustMyBroom has the whole scoop and I wouldn’t do this justice other than to say that this shows poor judgement, poor leadership and poor representation on behalf of the citizens of Ontario by Mr. McGuinty.

An ongoing aboriginal occupation in southern Ontario has worn out the patience of the province’s taxpayers, Premier Dalton McGuinty says — and he’s urging Ottawa to pick up its fair share of the cost and settle the eight-month dispute with Six Nations protesters.

Although McGuinty has consistently called for patience in the aboriginal standoff in Caledonia, south of Hamilton, his own forbearance appeared at an end as he reminded the Conservatives in Ottawa that aboriginal land claims are a federal responsibility.

“It is costing the people of Ontario a lot of money,” McGuinty said after a weekend speech in Niagara Falls.

“We intend to claim for compensation from the federal government and we would encourage the federal government to fully assume its proper responsibility and begin to bring some real vigour to the negotiations and to bring them to some conclusion.”

Go Read It All!!!

ADDENDUM:I added the words “by Mr. McGuinty” to the second paragraph to clarify that it is his actions I am disgusted with. The way it read before may have been misconstrued as me being disgusted with Lisa’s post at DustMyBroom, which is not the case. DustMyBroom is a GREAT blog I urge you all to bookmark and read regularly.

Sandra Pupatello would already had dealt with this problem if she were Premier.

That said: Prime Minister Harper should simply lead a bayonet charge onto Caldonia and be done with this.

Didn’t he pay former Ontario Liberal Premier $1 million to handle this. And, wasn’t there another Liberal being paid big bucks – some woman. So, were there no performance measures or accountability to actually SOLVE this problem for this exhorbitant fees???? So once again, the Liberals got their cut off the top and the taxpayer is left to fix and pay for their incompetance.
    It disgusts….

Josef (#2) Did you know that Pupatello has almost NO Liberal labelling on her website? She must be really proud to be part of McGuinty’s Cabinet.

Shannon (#2) are you talking about the $1300/day that Jane Stewart is making?

P.S. don’t forget the advertising money Brian Torsney’s advertising agency got to promote Caledonia business.

Brian’s sister was a special assistant to David Peterson when he was Premier!!

That ‘woman’ was Jane Stewart of the Federal Human Resouces ‘boondoggle'(was that word invented for the scam?)….millions(billions?) lost in limbo under the Libs. This was cushy spot for her to collect thousands a day and no one really expected results. If she wasn’t held accountable for the loss of taxpayers money a few years ago, how could she be expected to get results in Caledonia?
Bring on the Feds now…I’d like to see some Conservative backbone in on this.

She’s her own brand in Windsor and from looking at other Ontario Liberal websites, the website was created from an Ontario Liberal website template.

The only reason it has cost taxpayers so much money is because McGutless suffered from premature expenditurization (?!?) and paid out money before he had the facts. How typical, acting without having any facts then trying to pass the buck. It’s classic McGutless.

As for the fishwife Pupatello, all she seems capable of doing is rabidly spouting Liberal party bromides in response to questions, regardless of subject.

I’ve been wondering all along how, if the land were not deeded correctly, the developer, then McGutless were able to purchase it? Where’s the documentation?

If Angry is correct, Ken Hill (GRT) also bid on the land but lost out to the developers. If it was already native land, who was he buying it from and why?

This onion has many layers, all rotten I’m sure.

First, good use of the English language like Pupatello. You too can make the English language work.

Second, she also gets things done – and these are 3 examples:

    *Legislation on raves in Opposition
*Support of US in War on Terror and Iraq – only legislator in the post-11 Sept. debate to support military force
*Started the Passport Mentoring Initiative to provide a mentoring program for disabled students by pairing them up with an elder disabled student to help them transition post-high school.

Oh and a fourth: Providing aid to Skagit Valley College’s Leader of the Opposition in Skagit Valley College’s hour of need – look for “Pupatello-style Gotcha Politics” For that, I am forever grateful.

Pupatello’s a stand-up, kick-butt, no-nonsense leader in the mold of Churchill and if she were born in Calgary and not Windsor West… Stephen Harper.

Josef, your first and third points are good ones but the second is not “getting things done”. Even some conservatives (me being one) are happy we did not enter the quagmire that is Iraq.

I have no personal reason for liking the Ontario tories, but my personal disgust in broken promises and bad decisions that McShifty has made have me quite jaded against anyone in his party. Unfortunately for her, Pupatello has chosen to side with the devil I do know and would be glad to oust.
