Lowell Green To Be Roasted, Along With Eastern Ontario Beef

Well it seems the Island of Sanity will be having a Luau on April 20th celebrating the 50 years Lowell Green has been in the business.  The event will actually be a roast of the CFRA weekday morning host who tackles topics from the municipal level all the way up to the federal level with the zeal of men a third his age.

The event is actually a fund raiser and all proceeds of the $100 tickets will be used to provide the Ottawa Food Bank with a boatload of Eastern Ontario beef.

You can pick up tickets and find out more by calling 613-745-7001.

On Thursday, April 20th, 2006, 580 CFRA’s Steve Madely will host this evening featuring a celebration of Lowell Green’s 50 years as a broadcaster.
This prime rib roast dinner will also include a live and silent auction and a salute to Lowell Green by “Celebrity Roasters” including, Ken “The General” Grant, CTV’s Mike Duffy and original CFRA General Manager Terry Kielty.

    Where: Lansdowne Park Exhibition Halls

When: Thursday, April 20th starting at 5:30 pm

Tickets are $100 per person and are available through The Ottawa Food Bank at 745-7001. A charitable receipt of $50 per ticket will be issued.

Tables of eight are also available for $800

Proceeds from the event will benefit Food Aid 2006, a co-operative effort that raises money for the Ottawa Food Bank, which purchases beef from local farmers, and in turn distributes nutritional, high-quality beef to food banks and soup kitchens throughout the Eastern Ontario region.
This program also helps the struggling local beef farming industry, supports the processing industry, and puts nutritious helpings of fresh beef onto the tables of needy families in our region.
