Al Gore Takes Movie Money And Hides

A friend of mine was telling me how global warming could be proven and that a big part of it was due to the cutting down of the rainforest. The current of water coming up along the east coast of South America was being dramatically affected, and warmed, which created an imbalance in water temperatures, thus creating more Atlantic Storms.

Bullchips is all I have to say.

If that was the case, this year should have been as active, or more active, in terms of Atlantic Storms. But here are the hard facts from the past 8 years. Notice that this year there is a significant drop in the number of tropical storms.

2006 Name Storms

But you can also look at the inconsistency in the East Pacific storms in the same time period.

2006 East Pacifici Name Storms

Let me put this in graphical terms, I put the following chart together indicating each sections name storms and outlining the total.

2006 Chart

The average number of storms in the two regions is 29.25/year over the past 8 years. In the same 8 year period, 4 years have been above that watermark and 4 years have been below that watermark, including 2006. (technically the year is not over, but there would need to be 4 new name storms in a week and a half start up to change this statistic so it is safe to make this claim.)

Considering there was some pretty significant fearmongering by Al Gore, his environmentalista followers and his propaganda movie last year, I think he owes society an apology for not waiting a few years to see if the trend was accurate.

So now I want to know why more Liberals are not on the CLEAN air bandwagon which Conservatives like Rona Ambrose and Stephen Harper have adopted, and why they continue to harp on the HOT air bandwagon Al Gore erroneously created.

I don’t know or care about your fancy-pants charts and graphs but it is cold here in Alberta and some liberal moonbats have promised me global warning and I want it now. I demand my global warming, it was promised over and over again yet it is still cold here.

Didn’t you get the memo “Shades of Clarity”, “global warming” is now “CLIMATE CHANGE” that way when its cold it’s our fault, and when it’s warm it’s our fault, when it’s dry…, when it’s wet… . If the weather is at all different from what the “experts” want then its climate change. Some how they have taken all of the “Climate Change” that has happened since the beginning of time and said ‘that was all different than now’.They always talk about green house gas but never mention H2o, which makes up about 97% of the total, there-by making the other components seem much larger than they are. Just like Pierre Burton said about Farley Mowat, ‘he never let facts stand in the way of a good story’

When you read about glaciers retreating think back, way back when Canada was under 2 miles of ice. That was just 20,000 years ago. Did the ice retreat to the north? Are the glaciers retreating not just part of the end of the ice age which hasn’t finished yet?

If you do some research you’ll find that a certain Maurice Strong was the brains behind the Kyoto protocol. The same Maurice Strong who is spending most of his time in China (the largest recipient of dollars under the Kyoto agreement. Of course you will find the Little Shyster from Shawinigan spending most of his time in China as well since he signed the agreement for us with no national debate.

Seems like there is lots of money to be made from fear.

Fiumara (#3) your comment ties in so well with Charles (#2).

The switch from “global warming” to “climate change” probably happened when some smart liberal had the foresight to see that eventually the warming trend would stop and a cooling trend would start.

Without the change in terminology, they might be cutting off the free government funding to their grandkids, or great grandkids, or great-great grandkids, etc.

Not many years ago, Ottawa got the first snowfall of the fall in mid-October, and it didn’t all melt away until spring.

Winterlude used to run for ten contiguous days in late February. It earned the moniker “Waterlude” because of the frequency of rainouts. The past couple years have seen cold weather through much of March.

One year, patios opened more than a month early, as spring took a firm hold on the city.

This year, we had a cool summer (really hot temps for only one day), and it was blamed on global warming. We had a warm fall and it was the fault of global warming. Then we had a cold snap, with freezing rain, snow, and temps to minus 20, and it was the fault of global warming. Now we’re looking at a green Christmas, and it’s supposed to be the fault of global warming.

When the enviroactivists can’t get support from the facts, they claim that global warming will simply lead to “more erratic” temperatures.

All they really hope is that nobody can remember the facts (that trends are long-term, not short term; and that what warming we may have experienced does not have a proven association with short-term fluctuations in temperature), and that nobody can work with statistics.

If everyone were to actually read (or at least glance through) the IPCC report(s), we’d all be making more informed choices. We might disagree with certain conclusions about economics which are not made by economists, but we’d have a common basis for the discussion.

    Third Assessment Report(s), 2001

Have you noticed that the MSM has totally ignored the fact that we are in an El Niño season. Check the NOAA site and it says we’re in an EL Niño season. This explains the wild weather out west and the warm weather in the east. All predictable and known about for centuries. No big surprise.
