Stephane Dion Must Have A Big Butt

Because he keeps making room for provinces to pucker up and plant their lips on it.

Sunday night, right after the Liberal leadership convention was over he appeared on the CBC National and when asked directly about the 35% increase in Green House Gas Emissions he stated that this increase was because of all the oil production out west and that he would reverse this trend.

By stating this, he did a couple of things.

1) He admitted that we did not necessarily produce the green house gases directly, but that we would owe into Kyoto because of our oil production. Now recall that Saudi Arabia is exempt from paying into Kyoto and they produce millions of barrels of oil per day more than us.

2) He admitted that the Liberals failed miserably with regards to a) setting the Kyoto targets and b) meeting them.

and 3) he told Alberta to kiss his butt.

Well now he has come out and stated that if elected he would return the Wheat Board to the status quo which means he is telling Saskatchewan and Manitoba farmers to kiss his butt too.

I hope he finds a way to tell Ontario to kiss his butt next.

If Dion should ever reach the highest office in the land westerners may as well bend over, grab our ankles and walk in backwards.

I suppose farmers asking for a plebiscite on changing the wheat board, as allowed for withing Wheat Board Guidelines, would be giving farmers what they want and need.

The conservative government’s refusal to hold a binding plebiscite, and their firing of discenting voices in the Wheat Board, consititues a big kiss my ass to the west. We’ll watch farmers come to the Liberal party as their conservative government, who for so many years in opposition labelled themselves as representatives of the business interests of farmers, spits in their face when they want to choose their own future. Preston Manning should be spinning in his political grave.

Richard giving farmers the right to sell their own grain that they themselves created to whomever they see fit is anything but a slap in the face. It is the only way for them to actually choose their own future.

Get off your high horse, there is no such thing as the right to vote yourself into slavery which is exactly what you are advocating.

Putting farmers in jail, like the Liberals did, for wanting to sell their own wheat is a travesty in any country but especially in a country like Canada.

Letting them vote on the concept of putting their neighbors in jail is repugnant. Anyone who advocates in favour of it should be ashamed of themselves.

I like your language. The conservatives are “giving” farmers the right to sell their wheat as they wish. It’s kind of like my dad giving my mom a power saw for christmas. Mom doesn’t want it, can’t use it, but heck it sure fits nicely into Dad’s garage. This whole mess the Conservatives are creating for themselves is in search of an ideological trophy to hang on the wall, rather than democracy and practical solutions for farmers.

Really, this should all be about helping our famers, my family, who are in deep economic trouble. They work the ground, they know the solutions, and the Conservative party has no right to try and command them on what to do. I believe all this Conservative strongarming is based on a knowledge, proven time and time again by surveys, that the majority of farmers want the Wheat Board in its current form. Why else wouldn’t the Cons hold a vote? It would look great for them, and prove that they truly represented farmers.

Check this out, guys, just got it from Bourque:

    Gumdrops
Heads were rolling this morning at Liberal Party headquarters. National Director Steve Mackinnon has resigned. Kim Doran (Dir. of Org) & John Arnold (Dir of Fin) may be next. Names, among others, on the short-list to replace Mackinnon on an interim basis include Dion campaign manager Mark Marrissen, and former party director George Young. Benefits to the lucky appointee include the opportunity to bend elbows with Don Newman and Jane Taber in the martini bar at Hy’s. Developing … Meanwhile, the Government of France may have a bone to pick with one of its citizens. “Steph” Dion, now Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition here in Canada, would seem to no longer be entitled to French citizenship. That, according to French Law (Art.23-8), which states that a citizen loses French nationality when “filling an employment in a foreign army or public service or in an international organization of which France is not a member, or more generally providing his assistance to it, did not relinquish his employment or stop his assistance notwithstanding the order of the Government.” On the other hand, who knows, perhaps La Republique will make an exception for the chance to have one of its own become Canada’s next PM … And, finally, Margaret Bloodworth, the PM’s national security advisor, is being mentioned as the RCMP’s next Commissioner

    Right on Moneybags!

Richard you have no more right to tell me how to market my crop than the government does. And the reason your losing money is that the board is selling your crop for well below world prices. Wake up and do some price checking.

If you are too lazy to sell your own crop the Conservatives are leaving you an option with a voluntary board, they will keep on helping your sorry butt.

Quit your whining already and quit trying to tie me to your sinking ship. I’m not interested in partnering with someone who can’t do basic math, let alone being forced too.
