She has a great post outlining the public funding that was received by various lobby groups that promote public daycare.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s quite interesting to see how much we pay these groups to hit us up for our money.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a few<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada<br \/>\nOttawa Ont &#8212; $204,526<\/li>\n<li>Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care<br \/>\nToronto Ont &#8212; $110,000<\/li>\n<li>International Child Care Canada Inc<br \/>\nMississauga Ont &#8212; $286,458<\/li>\n<li>Alberta Centre for Child, Family &#038; Community Research<br \/>\nAlberta&#8211; $100,000<\/li>\n<li>BC Aboriginal Child Care Society<br \/>\nWest Vancouver BC &#8212; $820,132<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is just a few from a list which totals almost $4.7M dollars.  How&#8217;s that for buying access to your wallet?<\/p>\n<p>The Quebec daycare system with 30 odd thousand on the waiting list that is so highly touted by the Liberals and NDP isn&#8217;t what we want.  Is it?  A month or so ago there was the story about <a href=\"https:\/\/officiallyscrewed.com\/?p=29\">the child left outside in the cold<\/a>, asleep for hours.  Then just the other day we have <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ctv.ca\/servlet\/ArticleNews\/story\/CTVNews\/20060317\/forgotten_child_cp_060317\/20060317\/\">two more workers fired<\/a> for leaving a child in the facility after they closed for the day and locked up.
