Just Because I Like The Commercials

For those of you who have seen the commercial where the elderly woman is telling the young man about different items in a pharmacy and says “This one heats up, and this one tingles and this one is minty”, etc etc.  And it ends up being a gum commercial.

Well when the young man leaves, the shot of the pharmacy, called Surrey Drug Mart which is in a little plaza where a great little pub called KCMcFly’s is.  I used to hang out there and play trivia on the NTN network a couple of nights a week back in the early 90’s.

Nice to know it is still there.

 Surrey Drug Mart

This may not be interesting to most of you, but tough noogies.  It’s my blog and I want to point this out because it was a part of my life and I like the gum commercial.

So you’re OK with the subtext “Have loose morals, kiddies, just keep your breath fresh.”

Read last week that Surrey will be BC’s largest city within a dozen years. Not surprising given the affordability gap and their common sense civic leaders. Surrey is attracting huge investment capital and hordes of young people. Vancouver, with it´s fairy-dusting Mayor Moonbean micro-managing on things like climate! nuclear zones! and chicken coops!, while accepting election money from US private Foundations is driving out fed up people young and older, including many with old money.
The old Surrey was often looked down upon but the new emerging Surrey simply rocks!

Dollop – Go back to the 1800’s. Kids have been making out in cars on TV for decades. And for the record, I am a libertarian, not a socon. If you don’t like it, the little X in the top right corner is at your full disposal.

Susann – The Surrey in the photo and commercial is not the one in BC. It is located in Toronto at intersection of Victoria Park and Surrey as shown in the map. But glad to know Surrey BC is growing. I would love to visit one day.

I wondered where this was as I grew up very near that plaza. So glad that someone else is interested enough to confirm this. Thanks!
